StoreDot, the pioneer of extreme fast charging (XFC) battery technology, announced Jan. 19, 2021 the availability of its first-generation 5-minute charge battery engineering samples.
A startup has developed lithium-ion batteries that can charge an electric vehicle in about the same time as an average fuel tank fill-up, Yahoo News reports. A typical EV now takes about eight hours to charge.
This represents a significant milestone in eliminating the range and charging anxiety of electric vehicles (EVs), demonstrating the commercial viability of extreme fast-charging (XFC) batteries for the first time via a small form-factor battery cell.
