The Netherlands has exceeded 1,000 electric buses in operation. In five years\u2019 time, more than 20% of buses in Dutch public transport buses have become emission-free. Since 13 December, the e-buses operating in the contry are 1,163<\/strong>, almost 400 more than last year. The largest fleet runs in IJssel-Vecht, where Keolis included 246 electric buses in the timetable<\/a>. The news is reported on the Dutch specialized media OVPro<\/a>, which based its calculation on a new report from consulting firm\u00a0CROW-KpVV.<\/p>\n

Electric buses in the Netherlands<\/h2>\n

After IJssel-Vecht, most zero emission buses circulate in Groningen Drenthe (166)<\/a> and Amstelland-Meerlanden (100).<\/p>\n

In 2015, the leaders of the PTAs in the Netherlands came to an agreement. From 2025 on, newly bought buses for public transport can only be emission free.\u00a0<\/strong><\/span>In 2030 the entire fleet (around 5000 buses) has to be clean on the exhaust pipe<\/span><\/p>\n

According to forecast, the\u00a0number of zero-emission buses will increase by a further almost 500 in 2021<\/strong>, including in Amstelland-Meerlanden, Gooi and Vecht, Utrecht and Rotterdam. The article on OVPro mentions that \u00abCROW says it is not yet in a position to assess the consequences for the corona crisis in subsequent years, although the goal of completely emission-free bus transport in 2030 remains\u00bb<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
