Hyundai will begin the global roll out of what it claims is the first mass production ready hydrogen fuel cell heavy duty truck next week.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Korean automaker has announced a digital premiere event for the launch of Xcient Fuel Cell, will take place on October 14, 10am KST. Hyundai executives of its commercial vehicle business division and Fuel Cell Center will also outline their roadmap for clean commercial mobility at the event.<\/span><\/p>\n

The move follows a successful pilot program in July, when the automaker shipped 10 Xcient trucks for evaluation by customers in Switzerland<\/a> as part of its plan to roll out a total of 1,600 fuel cell electric commercial vehicles by 2025.<\/span><\/p>\n

The truck is equipped with a 350-bar 32-kg hydrogen tank and claims around 250 miles of driving range with a full trailer in tow. Fueling time to full charging takes approximately eight to 20 minutes and it claims to carry a load comparable to that of a diesel truck. It also boasts various safety and convenience features such as Front Collision-avoidance Assist (FCA), Lane Departure Warning (LDW), smartphone mirroring and wireless charging.<\/span><\/p>\n
