{"id":7749,"date":"2020-10-01T17:32:50","date_gmt":"2020-10-01T15:32:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/advancedfleetmanagementconsulting.com\/eng\/?p=7749"},"modified":"2020-10-01T17:32:50","modified_gmt":"2020-10-01T15:32:50","slug":"mercedes-benz-3","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/advancedfleetmanagementconsulting.com\/eng\/2020\/10\/01\/mercedes-benz-3\/","title":{"rendered":"2020 Mercedes-Benz GLC Achieves Top Safety Pick Award"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">The\u00a02020 Mercedes-Benz GLC, a midsize luxury SUV, earned\u00a0a\u00a0Top Safety Pick\u00a0award from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) when equipped with specific headlights and optional front crash prevention.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">To qualify for a 2020\u00a0Top Safety Pick award, a vehicle must earn good ratings in six crashworthiness evaluations, including the driver-side small overlap front, passenger-side small overlap front, moderate overlap front, side, roof strength and head restraint tests.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">It also needs advanced or superior ratings for both vehicle-to-vehicle and vehicle-to-pedestrian front crash prevention, as well as an acceptable or good headlight rating for at least one of its available headlight packages.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">The GLC misses out on the higher-tier Top Safety Pick+ award, which requires good or acceptable ratings for all the available headlight packages. The SUV\u2019s optional curve-adaptive LED projectors earn a good rating, but the base-level LED reflectors were rated poor, due to inadequate illumination. Mercedes-Benz is working to address that problem for 2021.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">The award applies only to vehicles equipped with an optional front crash prevention system.
