{"id":7610,"date":"2020-09-22T13:19:54","date_gmt":"2020-09-22T11:19:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/advancedfleetmanagementconsulting.com\/eng\/?p=7610"},"modified":"2020-09-22T13:19:54","modified_gmt":"2020-09-22T11:19:54","slug":"fleet-operators","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/advancedfleetmanagementconsulting.com\/eng\/2020\/09\/22\/fleet-operators\/","title":{"rendered":"Project to show fleet operators symbiotic benefits of EVs"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Large fleet operators could swap diesel for electric delivery vehicles following a new one-year project that aims to demonstrate the benefits of smart charging.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Scheduled to start in May, 2020, the EV Fleet-Centred Local Energy Systems (EFLES) project is aimed at optimising logistics companies\u2019 growing electric vehicle (EV) fleets, with the added benefits of cutting carbon emissions, air pollution and energy costs.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The project is being led UK Power Networks Services, alongside <a href=\"https:\/\/www.moixa.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Moixa<\/a>, the smart charging specialist, logistics company <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ups.com\/?Campaign_id=BOILERPLATE_PRESSRELEASE_END_UPSCOM_050319#_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">UPS<\/a>, the not-for-profit Cross River Partnership, and Innovate UK.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Moixa intend to show how its GridShare artificial intelligence (AI) software can maximise the cost and carbon savings from EVs. GridShare will analyse hundreds of data sources at UPS\u2019 Camden depot \u2013 including energy prices, power demand and the weather \u2013 to optimise EV charging, as well as power supply and demand in order to demonstrate how to effectively cut costs.
