Estes Express Lines will soon be adding 50 new natural gas trucks fueled with Clean Energy Fuels\u2019 Redeem renewable natural gas to its growing sustainable fleet.<\/span><\/p>\n

Estes\u2019 new trucks will feature Cummins Westport\u2019s ISX12N engine, and the carrier is expected to use an approximate 2.8 million gallons of RNG during the seven-year contract.<\/span><\/p>\n

Clean Energy\u2019s Redeem RNG fuel is derived from capturing the biogenic methane produced by the decomposition of organic waste from dairies, landfills, and wastewater treatment plants. According to the company, it can reduce greenhouse gas emissions by at least 70%, and even up to 300% depending on the source of the RNG.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cSwitching to trucks fueled with ultra-low carbon fuel is vital to improving air quality and fighting climate change in the regions that we serve,\u201d said Estes CEO and President Rob Estes. \u201cClean Energy\u2019s Zero Now program has enabled us to switch to cleaner fuel and engine technologies that make financial sense \u2013 so it\u2019s a win on several levels.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Estes purchased the trucks through Clean Energy\u2019s Zero Now program, which reduces the price of a natural gas truck at par with a diesel truck, as well as guaranteeing a fuel discount for the duration of the agreement.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cBy adding 50 clean, sustainable natural gas trucks to its fleet, Estes demonstrates their leadership in the drive to lower the carbon footprint by the heavy-duty trucking industry,\u201d said Brett Lindsay, vice president of Clean Energy<\/span>.<\/p>\n
