General Motors is hosting\u00a0its first ever Virtual Solutions Summit<\/a> for fleet customers, which opened\u00a0on Aug. 25, 2020, and serves as an online showroom where attendees can view in depth-videos on products and services from the automaker\u2019s subject-matter experts and features\u00a0presentations from top GM leaders on the current state and future of General Motors and GM Fleet.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cOur goal is to provide you with solutions. Solutions for you and your organization. Solutions to help you succeed,\u201d said Ed Peper, U.S. VP, General Motors Fleet, about the Virtual Solutions Summit.<\/span><\/p>\n

The event features\u00a0virtual presentations from key GM leaders, including Peper of General Motors Fleet; Mary Barra, chairman and CEO, General Motors; Mark Reuss, president, General Motors; and Steve Carlisle, executive VP and president, GM North America.<\/span><\/p>\n

During the summit attendees have\u00a0access to details on General Motors’ latest light-duty and heavy-duty trucks; crossovers, such as the Chevrolet Traverse and Equinox; and sedans, which is highlighted by the Chevrolet Malibu and Spark and the Cadillac CT4 and CT5.\u00a0Chevrolet also offers\u00a0a sneak peek of its upcoming refreshed Bolt EV and new Bolt EUV during the virtual event.<\/span><\/p>\n

Fleet customers are also\u00a0given the ability to tailor the virtual showroom to learn about products and services that best support their industries. Videos from GM\u2019s sales, customer support, product management, and engineering teams are available to educate attendees\u00a0on products and services that best serves\u00a0their interest.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThrough this new platform, our engineers, commercial product managers, connected service experts, and various team leaders are all coming to you from their very own home offices,\u201d said Peper. \u201cThey\u2019re coming to you to share the latest news about our extensive vehicle lineup and the services we can provide to help keep your businesses moving forward.”<\/span><\/p>\n

During her presentation, Barra discusses\u00a0the progress of GM\u2019s\u00a0 \u201czero, zero, zero initiative\u201d: she stresses\u00a0the importance autonomous vehicles will have on the future of driver safety and how crash-avoidance technology available now can help, and the importance of an all-electric future and how GM will support a greater adoption of EVs.<\/span><\/p>\n

She also gives an overview of\u00a0GM\u2019s all-new OnStar Business Solutions<\/a>, which brings four product offerings together \u2014 OnStar Safety Services, OnStar Vehicle Insights, API & Data Services, and Wi-Fi \u2014 to simplify fleet management for customers.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cWe are continuously working to strengthen our existing product lineup of vehicles you can buy today, and at the same time we\u2019re working on mobility solutions for the future through our corporate vision of a world with zero crashes, zero emissions, and zero congestion,\u201d said Reuss.<\/span><\/p>\n

Another presentation includes\u00a0Carlisle giving an overview on General Motors’ current lineup of commercial fleet vehicles, and he also discusses\u00a0the newly announced next-gen 2021 Chevrolet Tahoe<\/a>\u00a0PPV and SSV for police and government fleets.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re trying to create more solutions per mile than anybody else,\u201d said Carlisle. \u201cMore solutions for you and your businesses.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

A key topic addressed during the presentation is\u00a0with regards to how the COVID-19 pandemic has\u00a0changed the fleet and automotive\u00a0industries, and how GM is supporting the fight against the pandemic.<\/span><\/p>\n

A digital expo is also available to help connect attendees to a wide array of GM Fleet partnered suppliers and vendors.<\/span><\/p>\n
