Every month, we get to know another positive force in the fleet industry.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"incontent02Ad\"><\/div>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">This month, we spoke with Jennifer Moser, director, fleet sales and residual value for Nissan North America.<\/span><\/p>\n<h5><strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Getting into Fleet<\/span><\/strong><\/h5>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Moser started her career in the automotive industry in 1996. Her career began with the Ford Motor Company. She joined the automaker straight out of school, joining the Ford College Graduate Program.<\/span><\/p>\n<div id=\"incontent01Form\"><\/div>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">With family ties to Michigan, Moser had roots in the automotive industry from the start.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">\u201cMy grandfather was a Chrysler MOPAR retiree in Marysville, Mich. My father was a consultant for manufacturing companies and on the cutting edge of just-in-time process,\u201d she shared.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Moser worked with Ford for 10 years on the retail side of the OEM business.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">\u201cMy focus was on dealer-facing regions and headquarter sales operations and product marketing,\u201d she shared.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">After 10 years at Ford, she joined Nissan in 2006, entering the fleet side of the business about three years ago.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">\u201cMy 10 years at Ford were great. I had many different roles and experiences. My transition to Nissan was during the time of Nissan\u2019s relocation from California to Tennessee. It presented a unique opportunity at a company in transition,\u201d she said. \u201cAfter 20 years on the retail side of the OEM business, including regional sales and headquarters roles, fleet was a new area of the business to me and a new opportunity for professional growth.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Moser is currently responsible for U.S. fleet sales and strategy for both Nissan and Infiniti. She also leads residual value governance.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">\u201cI lead the rental and commercial sales teams for both Nissan and Infiniti. We have a full team that includes operations, distribution, and sales. Our sales team is in the market, working with dealers and commercial clients to grow their business. Also included in my team is Residual Value Strategy. We lead cross-functional initiatives and consult with the guidebooks to drive value in our vehicles upstream during development as well as in our downstream sales strategies,\u201d she explained.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">According to Moser, earning the trust of a commercial client who chooses Nissan for their sales representatives is very motivating.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">\u201cClients tell us they like their Nissan vehicles, and happy drivers become brand ambassadors! It is fun traveling with my family in different states, especially states like Colorado, where fleet vehicles have a different color license plate. Instead of counting cows and graveyards to pass the time during a long drive, we play \u2018count the Nissan commercial cars,\u2019\u201d Moser said.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">And, when asked for advice for others in the industry or looking to jump in?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">\u201cGo for it! The fleet side of the business is competitive, complicated, and rewarding. If you approach your business with a customer-centric focus, success is right around the corner,\u201d Moser shared. \u201cThe relationships built through fleet business last for years. It is so rewarding to see my commercial Nissan cars and trucks on the road, in action, and working hard for the companies who bought or leased them.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<h5><strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Get to Know Me<\/span><\/strong><\/h5>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Experience is only part of our story and what someone likes to read, watch, and listen to can help paint a fuller picture of their personality. Here are some of Moser\u2019s favorites:\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>Book:<\/strong> \u201c<em>Getting to Yes<\/em> by Fisher &amp; Ury. It is one of my favorite books on negotiating from business school,\u201d she said.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>Movie: <\/strong>\u201c<em>Cool Hand Luke<\/em>. Classic Paul Newman and an amazing character study,\u201d Moser said.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>Songs:<\/strong> \u201c<em>Born to Run<\/em> by Bruce Springsteen,\u201d she said.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>You May Not Know:<\/strong> \u201cI played soccer starting at age six before soccer was a mainstay in youth sports. I was often the only girl on the team.
