{"id":5248,"date":"2020-04-18T20:18:30","date_gmt":"2020-04-18T18:18:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/advancedfleetmanagementconsulting.com\/eng\/?p=5248"},"modified":"2020-04-18T20:21:02","modified_gmt":"2020-04-18T18:21:02","slug":"eaton","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/advancedfleetmanagementconsulting.com\/eng\/2020\/04\/18\/eaton\/","title":{"rendered":"Eaton introduces new technologies for China EV market"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>Eaton introduces new technologies for China EV market<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<article id=\"post-3236\" class=\"post-3236 post type-post status-publish format-standard has-post-thumbnail category-electrification-strategies category-industry-news category-oem-news\">\n<div class=\"post-container cf\">\n<div class=\"post-content-right\">\n<div class=\"post-content description \">\n<p class=\"p3\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Eaton has revealed new technology solutions from its eMobility business unit in China targeted at electric vehicle applications in that market.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">With more than 60% of global EV sales in China, Eaton (which has production capabilities in the country) is also planning further expansion.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">\u201cOur understanding of the unique needs of vehicle customers, and our experience with hybrids and EVs in both China and other regions, gives us a distinct advantage versus suppliers exclusive to the EV market in China,\u201d said Jeff Lowinger, president of Eaton\u2019s eMobility business.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">\u201cChina is already the largest EV market, and sales continue to increase due to government subsidies, tighter emission standards and NEV sales mandates, all to help reduce environmental pollution. We\u2019re excited to offer our eMobility technologies in China at a time of rapid growth in the region.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">The business unit specializes in three key areas for electric and hybrid vehicles: intelligent power electronics, power systems and advanced power distribution and circuit protection. The eMobility unit was formed in 2018 by combining products, expertise and global manufacturing capabilities from Eaton\u2019s Electrical and Vehicle businesses to strengthen global capabilities and deliver new electrification products and solutions to passenger car, commercial vehicle and off-highway customers.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Eaton is currently supporting electric medium-duty trucks and buses around the globe with its EV transmission solutions. In China, Eaton is engaged in development with multiple manufacturers, including Wanxiang, Zhongtong and others. The transmission solutions, the company claims, offer increased performance in terms of range, grade performance, acceleration and efficiency. The compact, lightweight transmissions also enable a significant reduction in motor size for the same application, enabling reductions in motor costs and overall weight.
