{"id":4729,"date":"2020-03-20T16:42:20","date_gmt":"2020-03-20T15:42:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/advancedfleetmanagementconsulting.com\/eng\/?p=4729"},"modified":"2020-03-20T16:44:39","modified_gmt":"2020-03-20T15:44:39","slug":"tips-to-reduce-fleet-driver-exposure-to-covid-19","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/advancedfleetmanagementconsulting.com\/eng\/2020\/03\/20\/tips-to-reduce-fleet-driver-exposure-to-covid-19\/","title":{"rendered":"Tips to Reduce Fleet Driver Exposure to COVID-19"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">While there are many offices that are\u00a0closing down\u00a0their physical\u00a0locations and\u00a0directing their employees to work remotely, there are\u00a0still\u00a0many fleet drivers that are out on the road.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Whether you\u2019re a delivery fleet driver, a roadside technician, or any other type of driver\u00a0that interacts with other people, there are steps you can take to reduce the potential exposure to\u00a0COVID-19 coronavirus.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">It\u00a0all\u00a0starts at the beginning of your shift, according to AAA.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Before you\u00a0leave your home,\u00a0wash your hands thoroughly at the sink for 20 seconds with soap and water.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><center><iframe src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/seA1wbXUQTs\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><center><\/center><\/center>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Throughout your day, whenever you receive any sort of equipment, spray the equipment with\u00a0disinfectant\u00a0spray or wipe it down using disinfectant wipes.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">A good item to have while on the road is a pack of nitrile gloves.\u00a0Wear gloves for every job you start through the day, to reduce the chance that you contract something from any given location\u00a0you visit\u00a0throughout\u00a0the day.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Following the completion of a\u00a0job, disinfect your hands and wipe down your vehicle.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Wipe down the inside of the vehicle, such as the door, dashboard, seat, door hand, and any exposed surfaces\u00a0with spray disinfectant or disinfectant wipes\u00a0after anyone enters your vehicle.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Have a small trash bag to dispose of soiled gloves, towels and wipes; make sure that you dispose of that small trash bag at the end of each shift, according to AAA.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">A few items that you probably handle every day that might not be getting the attention it should is your credit card, corporate fuel card, or cash.
