Should Carsharing Drivers Submit to Breathalyzers?<\/strong><\/h3>\n

A Canadian lawyer is pushing for carsharing companies to add breathalyzers to their cars, following a crash in Vancouver involving a Car2Go\u00a0vehicle that killed a taxi driver.<\/p>\n

According to News 1130<\/a>, lawyer\u00a0Kyla Lee of\u00a0Acumen Law Corporation is arguing that the cost of installation would be covered because the vehicles are used so often, and that you can’t put a price on someone’s life.<\/p>\n

If installed, drivers would need to blow into the device in order to start the car. If alcohol is detected over the legal limit, the vehicle won’t start.<\/p>\n

Lee says that carsharing companies need to do more to make sure is customers and others on the roads are safe.<\/p>\n
