Check out what a few of our subject-matter experts had to say when looking toward the future of this newer technology.<\/span><\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">\u201cSome say that ADAS technologies are paving the way for autonomous vehicles.\u00a0The deployment of sensors to gather information about a vehicle\u2019s immediate environment is a crucial first step for self-driving vehicles. Once ADAS technologies start to intervene actively, either by slowing down the vehicle\u00a0with automated braking or helping the driver steer using lane-keep assistance, they begin to shift into the first stage of autonomous vehicle development. I think two additional areas of innovation to watch include vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) communication and vehicle to infrastructure (V2I) communication.\u201d \u2013 Gary Johnson, director of Risk and Compliance Management, Lytx<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">\u201cThe introduction of new features combined with the maturity of existing features will result in a vehicle that edges closer to autonomous operation.\u201d \u2013 Mark Chung, vice president, roadway practice, National Safety Council<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">\u201cThere are a variety of studies that indicate many of the safety benefits originally tied to the self-driving vehicle have already been realized with the advancement of safety systems categorized as \u2018ADAS.\u2019 While delayed, there is still significant investment being made in realizing the \u2018self-driving vehicle\u2019 \u2014 which will require the continued evolution of ADAS features and components. I believe ADAS is forever part of the new driving experience.\u201d \u2013 Ben Johnson, director of product management, Mitchell1<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">\u201cADAS is here to stay and will continue to develop, support, and improve vehicle safety.
