{"id":11819,"date":"2021-07-15T13:18:44","date_gmt":"2021-07-15T11:18:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/advancedfleetmanagementconsulting.com\/eng\/?p=11819"},"modified":"2021-07-15T13:19:21","modified_gmt":"2021-07-15T11:19:21","slug":"volvo-16","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/advancedfleetmanagementconsulting.com\/eng\/2021\/07\/15\/volvo-16\/","title":{"rendered":"Volvo to take first electric buses north of the Arctic Circle"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Busmaker Volvo Buses\u2019s electric buses will reportedly be the first to operate north of the Arctic Circle starting this northern summer.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Scheduled to commence operating in the Norwegian town of Bod\u00f8, a good 16 hour drive north of the capital of Oslo, the fleet will reportedly consist of 31 electric buses in total to service the population of approximately 50,000 residents.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">This will be made up of 17 12-metre Volvo 7900 Electric models, and 14 large capacity Volvo 7900 electric articulated buses which can carry up to 120 passengers.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">According to Volvo Buses, the agreement with Nordlandsbuss which handles operation of the electric buses came about after a thorough analysis of Bod\u00f8\u2019s extreme climate and terrain.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">\u201cEvery city is unique and in order to create an optimal solution, it is vital that everything is properly designed to suit local conditions and needs,\u201d said Svenn-\u00c5ge L\u00f6kken, sales director at Volvo Buses in Norway said in a <a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.volvobuses.com\/en-en\/news\/2020\/sep\/volvo-buses-delivers-to-the-worlds-northernmost-operator-of-electric-buses.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">statement<\/a> when the order was first announced in September.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">\u201cFor that reason our initial analysis, including route simulation, plays a crucial role in our business model.
